Gareth Cliff came under fire for questioning the funeral costs of slain Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa.
Gareth took to tweeter to ask “Who’s paying for this massive funeral for #SenzoMeyiwa ?”
Responses came in hot and fast on the social network as users slammed Cliff for being racist and insensitive.

Cliff took to his personal website to answer his critics by backing his statement.
“Why is it rude to ask who’s paying for Senzo’s funeral? Everyone has a different answer.”
“Senzo has one of the biggest non-political funerals in SA history and I’m insensitive for asking questions? Help me understand”
“Well today reminded me that Twitter is alive and well and someone is always readier to be outraged than sad. Go well Senzo”.
