GLORILLA PROVES WHY SHE’S THE ‘WRONG ONE’ TO MESS WITH ON NEW MEMPHIS ANTHEM FEAT. GLOSS UP, SLIMERONI, K. CARBON & ALEZA
Named September’s Global Push Artist of The Month By MTV
And Recently Nominated For Two VMAS
Memphis’ most prominent rising star GloRilla (CMG / Interscope Records), continues her dominance with her star-studded anthem, “Wrong One” featuring Gloss Up, Slimeroni, K. Carbon, and Aleza. Produced by rap heavyweight Tay Keith, GloRilla and her troop of Memphis sisters rally together after she finds out her man has been stepping out on her with another woman. Instead of sulking, Big Glo regains her swagger and goes on a rampage by thrashing his house and later burning it down with her crew’s help. The video for “Wrong One” made its broadcast premiere on MTV Live, MTVU, Yo!MTV and on the Paramount Times Square billboards in New York City. GloRilla will also join the all-star lineup of Presenters at the 2023 “VMAs” airing LIVE from New Jersey’s Prudential Center on Tuesday, September 12th.
Directed by GloRilla and Benmarc, the tight-knit friendship between Glo, Gloss Up, Slimeroni, K.Carbon and Aleza dates back to 2021’s “Set The Tone,” which showcased the burgeoning artists on the come-up. Now, assembling for “Wrong One,” they continue to stand on a united front but as successful rappers with blossoming careers.
In July 2022, CMG CEO Yo Gotti signed GloRilla after the meteoric success of her Billboard hit “F.N.F.” The song propelled her to GRAMMY status, earning her first nomination later that year. She also notched her first Billboard top ten hit “Tomorrow 2” with Cardi B, making her one of rap’s newest leading female MCs.
Currently, GloRilla is on the road for Lil Baby’s sold-out It’s Only Us Tour, but that hasn’t stopped her from racking up the wins. MTV crowned her Global MTV PUSH Artist for September and she also received two nominations for this year’s MTV Video Music Awards (Best New Artist and Best Hip-Hop).
Earlier this year, GloRilla was named a XXL Freshman while notching more wins for publications like Rolling Stone, where she was named a member of the Future 25. and Variety, who included her in their Young Hollywood Impact Report last month. The cherry on top was Glo’s covering the July issue of Elle Magazine.
