LL Cool J hosted this year’s festivities, which was held at Los Angeles’ Staples Center while Kendrick Lamar captivating performance was certainly the highlight of the night. But despite racking up five trophies, Lamar lost out on some of the biggest awards of the ceremony — again. Ed Sheeran won for song of the year and Taylor Swift picked up best album for “1989.” And, of course, the ubiquitous “Uptown Funk” received record of the year.
