Johannesburg – September 2024 – Herbert Theledi, a leading property development entrepreneur with over two decades of experience, has launched a new venture called Jeqe Management, where he will serve as Group CEO.
Announcing the new entity, Theledi described Jeqe Management as a significant step towards innovation and growth in the South African property sector.
“I believe the time is right to establish a new structure to pursue property asset management opportunities. This is a natural move to diversify our property interests,” said Theledi.
Jeqe Management provides property management services for Nthoese Development and Shenge Property Group, with plans to expand and explore additional opportunities. Currently, the company manages several shopping malls in townships and rural towns, including the flagship Bushbuckridge Mall, Bushbuckridge Junction, and Thulamahashe, all located in the Mpumalanga province.
Additionally, Jeqe Management oversees Setsing Plaza in Phuthaditjhaba, Free State, and the Elukwatini Precinct, strategically situated near the border between South Africa and Eswatini. The company also manages more than 200,000 square metres of Gross Lettable Area (GLA) in commercial office space.
Theledi commented, “Engagements with several property stakeholders are progressing well. We are cautiously optimistic about signing a few deals, including a major client, before the end of 2024.”
Theledi, the founder and managing director of Nthoese Developments, has been a transformative figure in the property industry since 1994. Holding a BCom Degree in Accounting and Economics from the University of the North, he established Nthoese with the vision of creating a leading property development company.
Under his leadership, Nthoese’s portfolio has grown to an impressive valuation of over R2 billion.
“Our objective is to build a robust and diverse asset portfolio that delivers exceptional value while contributing to the broader community. We are committed to pioneering innovative strategies that will set new benchmarks in the property management industry,” Theledi concluded.
