Herman Kleinhans, an extremely talented musician and member of the group TWEE, drew a lot of attention when he won the Afri-Visie songwriting competition a few years ago. With the succesful release of his latest solo album, RUITE OOP (WINDOWS OPEN), he most definitely let the light in with the first single, Vliegtuig, which was taken from the album and still features on radio charts nationwide.
He now follows up the first release with a beautiful tribute to his Mother, titled, DANKIE, which he wrote during lockdown. “DANKIE is a song which I wrote during lockdown to my Mother for Mother’s Day. The song was recorded in a room, but the reaction was so overwhelming, that I decided to make a professional recording this year, but the concept stayed the same,” says Herman.
The music video of this beautiful song, produced by Wian van der Walt from Vonk Musiek, will be released soon. Make sure you keep an eye on Maroela Media’s pages on 30 April at 11h00 for this special music video release.
Herman is also very proud of the fact that the album was released alongside his own app, ShareTime. The purpose of this is to create a platform that makes it easy for people to help each other with their time and he believes that it can really make a difference.
Herman was born in Sunland in the Eastern Cape. He has been very passionate about music from an early age and was inspired by his Father, who sang and played guitar when friends came over for a braai.
When he is not singing or touring through the country, he’s busy developing and marketing his new app, as well as managing his two other businesses, TWEE Vellies and TWEE Plakkers, with Maryke, to whom he recently got engaged.
DANKIE is available on Herman’s album, RUITE OOP. Download it here: : https://lnk.to/081txIZY
