Now set to unveil her fourth ever single, “Higher (C’est La Vie)”, and as we speed ahead to the release of her debut project, Highlyy’s instantly recognisable and unique 2023 Afro-Pop sound is now truly ready for the world. The Amapiano inspired “Higher (C’est La Vie)” is produced by Shae Jacobs (BTS, Spiderverse soundtrack, Teyana Taylor) and sees the young vocalist singing in English, French and Pidgin (Yoruba).  It’s a feel-good anthem about believing in yourself at its core; but also a wider nod to Highlyy’s inimitable positivity and addictive happiness. A motivational and uplifting track, Highlyy reminds herself and girls around the world that no one can take their shine. “Higher (C’est La Vie)” is the first installment from Highlyy’s forthcoming debut EP +243, slated for a November release. The EP will see features from JayO, RSKO and Uncle Waffles and is highly anticipated. Speaking on the single, Highlyy states:“I am so excited for everyone to hear “Higher” and also for my 1st EP to FINALLY be out! It feels so surreal – I’m actually living my dreams!” It’s been a busy year for Highlyy, who also featured on the official Lionesses anthem for the 2023 Women’s World Cup, and earlier this Summer, dropped the incredible “Times Like This”, and the beautiful “Peace”. This new music from Highlyy is a firm step into new and exciting territory for the young musician. Moving from strength to strength, Highlyy’s current time in the music industry might be short; but her impact is far-reaching. Newly signed to Motown Records UK/ EMI, and with co-signs from the likes of Chris Brown, Rema, FLO, Ms Banks, Dave and more, Highlyy (real name Highly Blessed) has also supported the likes of Oxlade and Buju (BNXN) on the live circuit. Of Congolese descent, Highlyy comes from a supremely musical family; her brother is a fellow artist, her father plays the guitar and her mother sings. DNA aside, the Tik-tok viral star studied music at East London Arts and Music and has named Yxng Bane, Burna Boy, Tems and Chris Brown as influences on her music. Highlyy’s vocals effortlessly transition from Yoruba to French to English in her songwriting, creating an undeniably international appeal. With British Vogue already hailing Highlyy as one to watch, the world is truly her oyster.
