Johannesburg, January 2025: This week’s nominations had fans in stitches as housemates revealed their often unexpected reasons for putting each other up for eviction. With the game heating up, it’s clear that everyone is playing for the coveted R2 million grand prize, and no one is holding back.
Who’s Up for Eviction? Abobo, Gugu, Kay B, Nsuku, Philile, Swiss, Siphesihle, and Uyanda are on the chopping block this week. However, Head of House [HoH] Ezra used his save-and-replace power to remove Swiss and put Mata in his place. While his bromance with certain housemates is strong, his decision was driven by strategy protecting his alliances.
From personality clashes to accusations of inauthenticity, here are some of the standout reasons housemates gave for their nominations:
Sweet Guluva targeted Kay B and Nsuku, saying they are “too loud” and talk too much. It seems their big personalities don’t sit well with his more relaxed approach.
Beekay nominated Mata and Luzuko, claiming they are “pretentious” and not being their true selves. Could they be holding back their real game plans?
Nate didn’t hold back when she nominated Philile and Abobo, bluntly stating, “I wouldn’t tune into the channel to watch them.” Ouch! Ezra also nominated Abobo, calling him an “instigator” in the house.
Nsuku put Siphesihle up for eviction, saying she “acts like Mama Kumbaya” but only listens to one side of the story. Siphesihle, who believes she “comes in peace,” doesn’t know she is seen as a selective listener.
Muzi The-Mbuzi, known for his comical takes, nominated Gugu because “she lied about her age” a reason that left many viewers amused.
Fans have been buzzing online about the nominations, with many questioning whether some choices were personal or purely strategic. One viewer wrote “Mbuzi nominated Gugu because she lied about her age and Abobo nominated Swiss because he’s wearing a bandana”. Another viewer wrote “They’re shook by these nominations, what more the face-to-face ones”.
The biggest eye popper moment? Is Ezra retaining his HoH role despite Biggie’s twists on the HoH challenge. Whether Ezra’s save-and-replace decision was about loyalty or just a clever move to keep stronger players in the game.
In other news, food once again took centre stage in the still of the night. HoH Ezra is swimming in luxury in the HoH bedroom snacking on mangoes and an alcoholic beverage while his mates were trying to make ends meet in the kitchen. One thing is clear, the game is only getting tougher. Whether it’s petty squabbles or deep-rooted strategies, the stakes couldn’t be higher as we head into this weekend’s eviction.
