How do you start your mornings?? Do you have time to at least have a quick breakfast??
As a child, my mom used to constantly remind me of the importance of breakfast and from personal experience, if I skip breakfast I have a miserable morning. I would be impatient, a bit irritable and at times feel dizzy. My brain would also be inactive unlike if I had started the day with a meal. Regardless of my busy schedule, I have since decided to make it a ‘Must’ to ‘STOP”and have Breakfast. Most of my days I would have “Brekkie-in-a-jar” Wondering what Brekkie-in-a-jar is?? Let me share with you.
If you thought there is no time in the mornings to prepare breakfast, I am here to dispel that notion…. These jars can be prepared overnight and refrigerated then in the morning, you just grab one with you to work and have brekkie in a fancy way – THIS IS HOW I START MY MORNINGS!
The beautiful thing about my breakfast jars is that one can play around with a variety of ingredients daily, you can sometimes have layers of fruits and yoghurt, and other times fruits only.
With this particular one, my ingredients were:
½ cup Muesli
½ cup plain yoghurt
Few green grapes, sliced
Pomegranate seeds
1 nectarine, diced
In a glass jar, I poured the muesli first as a base, topped with grapes, added the yoghurt, then added muesli again and topped with pomegranate seeds and nectarines, and breakfast was served!! Garnish with mint leaves ( optional).
There you go, Brekkie-in-a-jar!!
I also prefer having a cup of green tea and mint or a glass of water with lemon just before and after my breakfast. (works well for cleansing)
