The competition was fierce, but the votes are in and Carli Oosthuizen is Huisgenoot’s Miss Teen 2024!
Carli, who was one of thousands of girls who entered for this coveted title, is 17 years old and currently resides in Senekal in the Freestate.
This beauty has been a favourite on social media from the get-go, and despite a very strong top 10 – Amy-Leigh Shirley, Ané Lamprecht, Carli Oosthuizen, Danielle Joubert, Hildegard Havenga, Jackie de Klerk, Lily Mtsweni, Mareli Jordaan, Telisa van Heerden, and Tiara van Wyk – she ultimately emerged victorious.
“Winning the Huisgenoot Mej. Tiener title feels like a dream. As if someone is going to pinch me and say: ‘Wake up!’. I feel very honored and blessed, and I am incredibly grateful. I am thankful to the Dear Lord who has blessed me so much and grateful for the people who stand behind me and have supported me,” she says. “It is definitely something indescribable, and I can’t wait for what lies ahead. I will make full use of the platform and let my light shine very brightly for others. I will definitely just remain myself and cherish the love of my family and friends,” she says about this huge honour that has befallen her.
Huisgenoot decided to revive this popular competition, which originally began in 1962, after many years in a new, modern format to reach a brand-new generation of readers, between the ages of 13 and 18.

The public could vote for their favourite on the hub at www.huisgenoot.com where the top 10’s videos and photos were featured.
In addition to the title, Carli also walks away with:
- A holiday for her and her family in Mauritius, sponsored by World Leisure Holidays.
- An article in Huisgenoot, with her inset photo on the cover. The article will also appear on huisgenoot.com and on Huisgenoot’s social media.
- Miss Teen will feature as a model on Huisgenoot’s fashion pages and be a guest presenter in a program on the VIA television channel.
- A prize package from Tapputi Egyptian Perfume Oils which includes five bottles of perfume oil, notebooks, and drawstring bags. She may also be invited to appear as a model in marketing material for this brand.
- R10 000 cash.
