Interview with David the Stylist

Here it is Adorners, finally our interview article with David the stylist, you will remember David the stylist from recent articles showcasing D’tioks designs. We met up with him and asked him a few questions about himself. So suave, So prim and proper and always dressed to the nines; he takes his style sense seriously and we love him for that.

Tell us a bit about yourself, what are your names:
My names are Makoe David Njuzi I was born and buttered in Tembisa and I am the last child to my parents.

What is your earliest childhood memory?
I remember myself in Primary school, wearing a double breasted jersey at school – I hated that jersey, but that is what my parents could afford at that time, my mother was a domestic worker and at some point my father won a competition and some money all of that changed.

What would you say to your younger self in two words?
Values and discipline

What is a typical day like in the of Danny?
I wake up and Pray early in the morning, for without God there is nothing I can accomplish. Afterwards catch up with what is trending on social media, help my friend run errands for his restaurant and sometimes have lunch together.

Why the Styling Business?
It was people around me who saw it in me long before I could see it in myself, and they cultivated it in me until I also saw that I have a great eye for clothing.

How long have you been into Styling?
Two years

Do you do it Full time?
Currently part time.

Do you have a partner or is this a Solo project?
I used to have a partner Noni O I learned a lot from her, but currently I have a mentor Zano Sithetho.

What are your future aspirations for your brand and where would you like to see it go?
Establishment of 5 stores country wide and would love to eventually mentor youth.

Where do you get your inspiration from for your work?
Different people from Church, the community, friends, followers and my mentor.

Do you have any advice for aspiring stylists?
Do your research be patient, if you started it with God he will see it to completion and do what you do best.
