We were truly privileged and delighted to have a chat with Model Actress and Entrepreneur Audrey Chabalala. You need only a few moments in her presence to discover she’s a woman set on defining herself, her candor, her Boldness, her fire is undoubtedly beseeching. She has totally outwitted the bombshell stereotype and is well on her way to staging a fashion industry takeover.
You can never leave such a contemplative and grounded woman without being transformed yourself and that is the true beauty of a bequeathing spirit that many are drawn to and it’s no wonder she is doing so exceptionally well.

Tell us about yourself:
My Name is Audrey Chabalala, I stay in Alexandra township (born in Limpopo). I’m a model and founder of Equip Model SA and the second of 4 siblings.
Earliest childhood memory:
I have a lot of childhood memories but my most cherished ones are of those spending time playing outside in the streets at home.
Why Modelling?
I did not plan to get into modelling it happened by default, after playing around with a friend doing a photoshoot, I started doing research about it and as time went by I found myself falling in love with it and I can’t picture myself doing anything else.
What would you say to your younger self in two words?
LOVE YOURSELF
Do you model Full time?
No I don’t model full time.

Tells us about Equipmodel:
Equipmodel is a platform for aspiring models to grow and learn about the modelling industry. We help them build their portfolios and provide information on what is required to become a successful model. We host camps and workshops that enable us to impart the knowledge that I and a number of talented and successful professionals have gained in our walk in this industry.

Where do you see the brand going?
In Future I see us hosting more workshops and camps in and around the country and internationally. I see Equipmodel as an academy for Modelling, Acting, Photography and MakeUp.
Do you have any advice for Aspiring Models?
Research about this career and if you still want to do it then go for it. It’s not going to be easy but I can promise you that you will enjoy your journey.
