Introducing Big Five Accident Repair Centre – Durban’s Premier Automotive Repair Hub

Durban, South Africa – Big Five Accident Repair Centre, one of Durban’s most esteemed automotive repair hubs, is proud to introduce itself to the South African public. Founded by the dynamic and passionate Mano Nayager, Big Five has rapidly grown into a beacon of excellence in the panel-beating and automotive repair industry.

Meet the Visionary: Mano Nayager

Mano Nayager’s journey into the automotive industry is as inspiring as it is unique. A drag racing enthusiast with a lifelong passion for cars, Mano’s career in panel beating began unexpectedly after an accident led to his employment at the very shop that repaired his vehicle. Driven by a deep curiosity and an unyielding commitment to understanding how accident-damaged cars are restored to their former glory, Mano spent two decades working for various panel beaters. However, dissatisfaction with the industry’s standards of customer service and workmanship motivated him to create a business that would set new benchmarks in the industry.

In 2010, Mano and his wife Jayshree founded Big Five Accident Repair Centre, named in honour of their five children. The couple’s vision was simple: to offer unparalleled customer satisfaction, maintain the highest standards of repair quality, and foster a work environment rooted in honesty, integrity, and transparency.

A Hub of Excellence and Innovation

Big Five Accident Repair Centre is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and a team of highly skilled technicians, ensuring that every vehicle is restored to factory standards. The company boasts 25 factory approvals, including major brands, and provides a comprehensive range of services such as in-house towing, a fleet of 30 courtesy vehicles, and a commitment to using genuine parts on all warranty vehicles.

“We have 25 factory approvals, a fleet of 30 courtesy vehicles, In house towing and we are a drop-off towing destination for most insurance companies as a state-of-the-art panel shop,” shares Mano.

The company’s dedication to excellence has not gone unnoticed. In 2024, Big Five was honoured with the “Best of Durban Business Award,” a prestigious accolade that highlights the company’s impact on the local business landscape. This award is a testament to the company’s unwavering commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

Mano says: “We are the greatest and definitely the best panel beater in Durban. Our hard work and dedication do pay off making the customer a priority and a winner.”

Community Engagement and Recognition

Mano Nayager is not just a successful entrepreneur; he is also a dedicated philanthropist and community leader. His involvement in the Tamil Business Warriors (TBW) business platform has been marked by significant contributions to humanitarian and social causes. In recognition of his efforts, Mano will be awarded the TBW Humanitarian and Social Award, further solidifying his status as a community champion.

Under Mano’s leadership, Big Five Accident Repair Centre is actively involved in various charitable initiatives, including feeding the poor, supporting underprivileged students with sanitary packs, and participating in community clean-up projects. This commitment to giving back is deeply ingrained in the company’s ethos and reflects Mano’s belief in making a positive impact beyond business.

“We do many charity drives, we do Christmas parties at old age homes, and we sponsor food and food hampers to various organisations. We create feeding schemes regularly,” says Nayager.

Looking to the Future

As Big Five Accident Repair Centre continues to grow, Mano Nayager’s vision for the next 5-10 years includes expanding operations with 4 to 5 new branches across South Africa. The company is also aiming to secure approvals from prestigious automotive brands like Mercedes-Benz, further establishing itself as a leader in the industry.

Mano’s leadership style, characterised by honesty, integrity, and a hands-on approach, has been instrumental in the company’s success. He leads by example, arriving first and leaving last, ensuring that every aspect of the business reflects his high standards.
