ISIS announces new leader for Boko Haram, says al-Barnawi replaces Shekau.
The Islamic State (IS) militant group has announced that its West African affiliate Boko Haram has a new leader.
According to BBC, this is contained in the recent edition of its magazine, Dabiq.
The jihadist group named Abu Musab al-Barnawi, the former spokesperson of Boko Haram as replacement for Abubakar Shekau.
Nothing was said of Shekau who released an audio last year August saying that he was alive and had not been replaced. Eve though Shekau has not made a verified appearance in any of the sects propaganda afterwards.
However, an unverified video surface in March this year, where the brutal terrorist said his end has come.
