Jacaranda FM’s Good Morning Angels Donates Over R100,000 To Animals In Need

Johannesburg, 26 July 2024 | Jacaranda FM’s Good Morning Angels initiative has once again extended its reach of compassion, this time donating more than R100,000 to four different animal sanctuaries. These funds will assist the dedicated individuals and organizations that work tirelessly to help animals in need.

“We are incredibly proud to support these animal sanctuaries through our Good Morning Angels initiative. The dedication and hard work of these organisations is truly inspiring, and we are honoured to contribute to their efforts,” says Deirdre King, Managing Director at Jacaranda FM. “At Jacaranda FM, we believe in making a positive impact in our community and beyond, and this is just one of the many ways we strive to do so.”

Paws and Purrs Animal Rescue

Lexi Lines, founder of Paws and Purrs Animal Rescue in Hekpoort near Magaliesburg, returned to a scene of devastation after a recent hospital stay. The caretakers she left in charge had disappeared without a word, leaving the kennels and gates open. Tragically, two of their 17 rescue dogs and their pet pig, Waddles, were killed.

Good Morning Angels stepped in to assist. Warm Fest with the Round Table donated R3,000 for blankets, and The Good Morning Angels Fund contributed R10,000 for food and medical needs for the animals.

No More Tears Animal Rescue

Founded in 2021 by Stephan Hendriks, No More Tears Animal Rescue has been a beacon of hope for animals and pet owners in Randfontein. The organization focuses on rescuing strays, providing medical care, and finding them loving homes. They also assist the community with veterinary visits, sterilization, and pet education.

The Good Morning Angels Fund donated R30,000 to No More Tears Animal Rescue to support their vital work in helping needy residents with vet visits and pet sterilisation.

FORA – Friends of Rescued Animals

Last month, FORA faced a senseless tragedy when 14 of their dogs were poisoned in their kennels. Despite frequent checks by FORA personnel and their security company, 12 dogs were found dead, and two more were rushed to the vet.

To help FORA recover and enhance their security, The Good Morning Angels Fund donated R30,000. This will aid with the costs of security cameras, extra fencing, and other necessary measures to keep their animals safe.

Wet Nose Animal Rescue Centre

Since July 1999, Wet Nose Animal Rescue Centre has been devoted to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of abandoned, abused, and neglected animals. As a Right to Life animal shelter, Wet Nose provides care for over 600 animals until they find their forever homes.

The Good Morning Angels Fund donated R30,000 to Wet Nose Animal Rescue Centre to support their ongoing efforts in providing care and shelter to animals in need.

Overall, Jacaranda FM’s Good Morning Angels community, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to helping animals in need, donated over R100,000 to support these four different animal rescue organisations.
