POPULAR DUO, JACQUES AND LIEZEL’S NEW SINGLE, WONDER VAN KERSFEES PROMISES TO FEATURE ON EVERY MUSIC LOVERS’ CHRISTMAS PLAYLIST
Since making their debut in November this year, the brand-new duo, Jacques and Liezel, have gone from strength-to-strength.
The release of their second single, WONDER VAN KERSFEES, not only promises to feature on music lovers’ Christmas playlists, but will most definitely strengthen their place in the South African music industry.
According to the pair, this upbeat gospel song (written by the artists themselves) is about God’s gift to His children – Jesus, the true Wonder of Christmas.
“We both love the Christmas season and festive songs and wanted to write something that we share in our hearts,” they explain. “Christmas is the commemoration of Jesus’s birth, but we forget that He was born for a reason … to be crucified and to die for our sins. His destiny was the cross, His purpose true love and His reason … you!”
The track was produced by Jattie de Beer of Artistry Productions and promises to resonate with audiences of all ages. “We think people will like the song, because it is a fresh, new and upbeat Christmas song in our beautiful mother tongue. It is not about ‘jingle bells’, reindeer or snowflakes, but about the real reason for Christmas – family and friends coming together to celebrate Jesus’s birth with grateful hearts,” they share.
WONDER VAN KERSFEES follows in the footsteps of their first original song, Uit My Hande, which has been a major career highlight for them thus far. “Our debut single was well received by various radio stations, as well as the public. We have received positive feedback and a lot of messages from people telling us how much it meant to them,” says the duo.
Jacques Schoeman and Liezel Marshall met about nine months ago when he bought music equipment from her on Facebook. They became good friends and decided to make music together. The rest is history.
Jacques enjoys restoring old cars and owns Iron Horse Customs, which specializes in motorcycles whilst Liezel manages her own company that does digital content creation. She was also part of the gospel group, Onbeskaamd, and has produced a Ghoema-nominated album.
Jacques and Liezel want their music to reach as many people as possible and are already working on their next single, which is scheduled for release early next year.
With WONDER VAN KERSFEES they want to remind listeners of what is really important. “Jesus is the true ‘Wonder of Christmas’ and we want to celebrate it with everyone. There is so much to be thankful for, even in the difficult times we are currently experiencing,” the pair concludes.
