Dublin-born dance sensation Jazzy returns with her hypnotic new single ‘Closer To The Floor’ alongside French DJ and producer Ankhoï, released via Polydor’s Chaos imprint.

The latest international collaboration from the Irish vocalist and DJ, ‘Closer To The Floor’ interpolates DSK’s 1991 ‘What Would We Do’ (also known for being sampled on Wiley’s 2008 hit ‘Wearing My Rolex’), as Jazzy meditates on music’s alchemical effect on the mind and body.

‘Closer To The Floor’ comes alongside an official video shot in Miami as part of a US trip that saw her play a pop-up party in New York for St Patrick’s Day before heading to Toronto for a 1000 cap club show, both of which were recorded for Jazzy’s celebrated GEWAH mix series. During the NYC set, which has been viewed over 28k times on YouTube, Jazzy previewed ‘Closer To The Floor’ sparking anticipation from fans in the comments.

Alongside releasing new music, Jazzy is preparing for a packed festival season this summer with Reading & Leeds, eight shows at Pacha, Tomorrowland, Creamfields, Radio 1 Big Weekend, AVA Belfast Forbidden Fruit and TRNSMT Festival already announced.

Jazzy asserted herself as the face of electronic music in Ireland and an international trailblazer for her homegrown scene with a pair of celebrated EPs (‘Constellations’ and ‘No Bad Vibes’) last year. The BRIT and Ivor Novello nominee has since racked up over 500 million streams globally, including 2 Irish #1 singles, 2 Top 5 UK singles and 6 Top 100 singles. Now the biggest female Irish artist on Spotify – having surpassed icons like Sinéad O’Connor and Enya – Jazzy was the first Irish woman to top Ireland’s music charts in over 14 years. Forbes acknowledged her as an artist who is breaking barriers in their prestigious 30 Under 30 Europe list.
