Singer-songwriter JP Cooper announces his new single “Diamonds and Gold”, released 6th September on Island Records. Produced by Cam Blackwood, the deeply personal song is the second single to be taken from Cooper’s forthcoming third album, due later this year. “It follows the release of previous single “Waiting On a Blue Sky”.
“Diamonds and Gold” is a soulful dedication to Cooper’s wife. He explains, “It’s a song about beauty showing up when you don’t expect it. It’s a song I wrote for my wife: ‘Some men find riches in riverbeds, some find them way out at sea, some ancient maps say they’re underground… but I found you here on my street.’ This feels like an incredibly abundant time in my life. I’m grateful to be able to share it with this song.”
JP Cooper’s debut album “Raised Under Grey Skies” has sold over 1 million copies, and includes the huge hit “September Song”, which now boasts over 600 million global streams. His debut album is 3x Platinum in the UK, Gold or Platinum certified in 11 other regions, with an incredible 6 billion streams worldwide and counting. As well as hit collaboration “Perfect Strangers” with Jonas Blue, JP has worked with the likes of Sigala, Kojey Radical, SG Lewis, Gabrielle Aplin, Stefflon Don, Petit Biscuit, as well as Stormzy on “Momma’s Prayers.
This autumn, JP heads out on his 2024 World Tour kicking off in Dallas, Texas in September, performing music from his acclaimed albums “Raised Under Grey Skies” and “She,” alongside a preview of new music. Dates include stops across America, Europe, Australia, and Asia, including headline shows in New Zealand, Australia, Japan, and London, playing Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith on 7th November.
