Local rapper Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye and Themba Tshabalala have been released on parole after serving half of their eight-year jail sentence.
“Jub Jub” Maarohanye and Themba Tshabalala were both found guilty on 16 October 2012 of murder, in an accident which left four boys dead and two others seriously injured.
Prince Mohube, Mlungisi Cwayi, Andile Mthombeni, and Phomello Masemola were killed in the ghastly accident while Frank Mlambo and Fumani Mushwana were left permanently brain-damaged.
Jub Jub and Tshabalala were originally sentenced to 25 years, a judgement that was overturned in 2014 to an eight year sentence for culpable homicide.
Maarohanye ‘s lawyer Rudi Krauser confirmed that his client had been released. The two will complete their remainder of the sentence in the system of community corrections, while been subjected to supervision.
