Nigerian afrobeats singer, songwriter and producer Jujuboy is back with a bang as he drops his new single “James Bond”. Following up his introspective single “Spaceman“, and a collaboration with Canada-based Nigerian afro-fusion artist Nonso Amadi on the tracks remix, premiered by DJ Edu on BBC Radio 1XTRA. Jujuboy is ready to show off his confident side on “James Bond”. Collaborating once again with Canadian production duo Banx and Ranx, Jujuboy wastes no time making a statement, kicking off with the line “Money don’t buy no charisma,” setting the tone for a track that’s brimming with swag and energy, and in the accompanying Eté meurtier directed video. Making waves with his unique fusion of afrobeat’s, R&B, and rap influences, Jujuboy is the first artist to be signed from the partnership between Nigerian entertainment company Aristokrat Records and Island Def Jam (Universal Music). Emerging from Edo State, alongside his contemporaries Rema and Santi, Jujuboy began his musical journey in the vibrant realm of his church choir at a tender age of eight. The roots of his church upbringing permeate his sound today, a result of learning music production through a neighbour. By age sixteen he was producing his own beats out of his Grandma’s house, armed with Fruity Loops and a trusty USB mic. Since then he’s had the opportunity to open for Simi on tour, produce on Seyi Shay’s album “Big Girl” and work with the likes Jidenna, Adekunle Gold, Gospelonthebeat and many more. “Spaceman”m which received support in France from RFI, Tsugi, TARMAC, KIF Radioand more, and “James Bond” are the first two singles from his highly anticipated upcoming EP, scheduled for release later this year. The tracks build on the success of his previous releases “I Dey There“, “Enjoyment” and “Gimmie Love“.
