Katy Perry finally confirms there’s Bad Blood as she blasts Taylor Swift for hitting out at Nicki Minaj.
The star took to Twitter a day after a disappointed Nicki unleashed a string of angry messages directed at MTV.
Yesterday, Nicki tweeted: “If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year. I’m not always confident. Just tired. Black women influence pop culture so much but are rarely rewarded for it (sic). ”
Taylor fired back: “I’ve done nothing but love & support you. It’s unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot..”
And in a tweet that appears to finally confirm their dislike for one another, Katy said Taylor had a nerve to be talking about pitting women against each other.
“Finding it ironic to parade the pit women against other women argument about as one unmeasurably capitalizes on the take down of a woman…(sic),” she wrote.
Nicki later favourited it.
Katy then went on to back her good friend Rihanna whose video for B**ch Better Have My Money missed out on a nod at this year’s Video Music Awards.
Rihann’a star-studded video was released on the 1st of July, which was still within the cut-off date for nominations.
“The real travesty is where is the shine for #BBHMMVideo when VMA eligibility period was 7/7/14-7/1/15 & that gem dropped 7/1… @MTV.”
Even though the beef between Minaj and Swift ended as quickly as it began, the rivalry between Perry and Swift is still going strong.
Last year, Swift announced that her song “Bad Blood” was about a female artist who stole her tour dancers right out from under her.
“She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour,” Swift said in an interview with Rolling Stone about the subject of her song. “She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me.”
Soon after, Perry tweeted, “Watch out for the Regina George in sheep’s clothing…”
