Inspired by a melody that struck him out of the blue, Keanan embarked on a journey to craft a song that speaks to the universal longing for companionship. “Your Company” delves into the emotions of yearning for someone’s presence, whether they are physically absent or emotionally distant. It’s a bittersweet anthem for those who find themselves dancing alone while waiting for that special someone to arrive.
“This single came about from a melody I heard in my head, the chorus melody,” he explains. “Lyrically, it was a time when I was alone often, so the thought of wanting company came about. And the story became more of a lover yearning for the company of someone who either doesn’t want to come over, or isn’t there anymore. For whatever reason that may be.”

“This fresh sound was once again just me wanting to try something I haven’t before and see how the world accepts it,” Eksteen says. “It was very much a conscious decision to try something new and to not fall back into old patterns.”
Accompanied by his trusted producer and manager, Jeremy Farber, Eksteen crafted “Your Company” to be a testament to his ever-evolving musical journey. Reflecting on his career highlights, Keanan reminisces about standout performances such as the Munich Sessions and their inaugural Johannesburg show at Sognage, where they opened for Spoegwolf. These events attracted their largest audiences yet, fueling their passion for delivering high-energy performances. Additionally, Eksteen fondly recalls their debut at Aandklas, relishing the electric atmosphere of a packed club.
While this single marks a departure from his previous work, Eksteen assures fans that there’s more innovation on the horizon. “For 2024 we have a list of singles I am very excited to release all with very very amazing sounds and fresh music and lyrics,” he shares. “Fans can expect energy all the way, as well as our relentless desire to play live as much as we can, wherever we can.”
