Kim Kardashian, 33, and Kanye West, 37, have kept it surprisingly tight-lipped when it comes to their May 24 wedding, but when Kim appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on August 4, she opened up about some of the finer details — including guest no-shows. In her interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Kim cleared up the rumor that Kanye gave a 45-minute toast that was about himself. In fact, he only gave a 20-minute speech, and it was about how important that day was for him and how grateful he was to all of their wedding guests.
This segued into Kim’s reveal that the 230-foot-long marble table at the reception was engraved with the guests’ names, as their names were engraved in Kim and Kanye’s hearts. Sure.
Anyway, “The worst was someone canceling last minute and not telling us,” Kim spilled. “Who did that?” Jimmy asked. “Whose name was engraved?” Kim wouldn’t budge further than that reveal, however.
“I don’t want to out anyone — someone did. We tried to put white paint and cover the name.” Could the name (or names) have been… Jay Z and/or Beyonce?!
The two were rumored to attend the Kimye wedding, but appeared to back out relatively last-minute. Not long before the wedding, Solange Knowles infamously attacked Jay Z in an elevator, and sources previously revealed to HollywoodLife.com that the source of the fight was Jay’s too-close relationship with designer Rachel Roy, who was slated to attend and did end up in Florence on May 24 for the wedding.
Jay and Kanye have been nowhere near as close as they once were — could a feud really exist between the two of them? And would Jay and Bey really have skipped out on the high-profile wedding last minute?
Another possibility to keep in mind is that the painted-over name belonged to Brody Jenner, who didn’t attend reportedly because his girlfriend, Kaitlynn Carter, wasn’t allowed to be his plus-one. However, Brody later insisted that work commitments kept him from the huge event. Sure, Brody, sure.
