Johannesburg, 16 May 2023 | With a long-standing history dating back to 1986, the Old Mutual Insure Car of the Year awards celebrates and showcases the pinnacle of innovation and excellence in the automotive industry. The category winners and the overall winner of the 2023 SA Car of the Year competition will be announced on 1 June and seasoned television and radio personality Kriya Gangiah will serve as the official host for the main event.

Kriya is no stranger to the South African automotive landscape. The radio personality is the lead anchor on the popular Formula 1 podcast ‘F1: Track This’ and has become a familiar face at various racing events around the country.

With a passion and drive for all things automotive, Kriya is excited to be hosting this year’s Old Mutual Insure Car Of The Year Awards and looks forward to bring her bubbly personality to this year’s main event.

“The South African Car of the Year Awards is the most prestigious awards ceremony when it comes to consumer vehicles and it’s an honour to be the host this year,” Kriya shares. “This year there is definitely a lot of competition in the market and I can’t wait to see who takes home the crown. As always, this year’s ceremony is going to be a night to remember and I cannot wait to step into the driver’s seat of a production I have been dreaming of hosting for so many years.”

This year will be the first time Old Mutual Insure will be taking over the title sponsorship of the esteemed Car Of The Year Awards and the brand will be gearing up to crown the country’s ultimate vehicle champion at a gala event on 1 June 2023.
