Last week to view Sasol New Signatures Exhibition 2022

The Sasol New Signatures Art Competition exhibition, featuring the work of the 2022 winners and finalists is in its last week at the Pretoria Art Museum and will close on Sunday 2 October 2022. The exhibition showcases an amazing array of artworks across all mediums from some of the top emerging talent in South Africa. There is an exciting and diverse range of narratives and subjectivities that are translated and transcribed onto the 106 artworks on display and should not be miss

A highlight of the exhibition is Supernature: Simulacra, a solo exhibition by Andrea du Plessis, winner of Sasol New Signatures 2021. As an extension of the Supernature series, which Du Plessis began in 2020; the work features an exploration of emerging technologies in combination with traditional oil painting to create interactive, immersive realms as well as an encyclopaedia of hybrid lifeforms. The exhibition aims to offer the viewer an opportunity to consider our interconnectivity with the natural world and examines the possibility of reconnecting to nature via technology.

For those not able to visit the Pretoria Art Museum, a virtual 3D gallery is available on the Sasol New Signatures website: www.sasolsignatures.co.za.

The Pretoria Art Museum is open daily from: 10h00 – 17h00.
