Renowned South African artist Leoté Taylor dropped her latest single, “Do You Love Me,” on Women’s Day, August 9, 2024. The release date is both poignant and purposeful, aligning with Women’s Day and Women’s Month in South Africa, as Taylor pays tribute to love and resilience.

A Heartfelt Exploration of Love
“Do You Love Me” delves into the complexities of romantic relationships, with Taylor posing the fundamental question of commitment and sacrifice. The single reflects her personal experiences and emotions, capturing the essence of seeking genuine connection and understanding in love. “I am always inspired by life and its myriad experiences,” Taylor explains. “This song was born out of a moment of introspection, where I poured my feelings into the lyrics to make sense of my experiences with love.”
Collaborative Mastery
Taylor’s new single was crafted in collaboration with acclaimed producer Neil Engel at The Hit Lab Studios. Featuring a live band composed of some of South Africa’s top musicians, the song stands out for its rich, soulful sound—a testament to Taylor’s commitment to authentic, live music.

Describing her sound as a blend of Soulful R&B with hints of various genres, Taylor draws from a diverse range of influences. “At its core, this single embodies the essence of R&B and Soul, with a touch of other genres that contribute to its unique flavor,” she shares.

Taylor’s musical journey began in the house music scene, where she collaborated with the late DJ and producer Rowick Deep. Her track “I Miss You” remains a fixture on radio and music channels. Additionally, her collaboration with New York-based duo Stede E and Hybrid Heights resulted in a #1 hit in New York City.
Hailing from Kwa-Zulu Natal and raised in Pretoria, Taylor’s early exposure to music came from her father and uncle. These influences shaped her musical aspirations from a young age, fostering a deep-seated passion for the art form.
