LOGAN PIETERSEN WANTS TO BRING HOPE AND ENCOURAGEMENT TO THOSE LIVING AND WORKING ABROAD TO SUPPORT THEIR FAMILIES

Must read

As South Africans, we have faced challenging times over the past few years, which has led many people to seek work in other countries – far from their loved ones, language, and culture.

BRING MY TERUG (H2-A), Logan Pietersen’s brand-new single, is dedicated to everyone who have to work and live abroad to build a future for themselves and their families.

“The song is about South Africans who have to work on farms in the USA (H2-A or H2-B). Many of them are away from their families for 9 to 12 months, doing hard physical work in a foreign land with a foreign language, culture, and traditions,” explains the 31-year-old singer-songwriter. “Sometimes they work for 38 hours straight and miss their people, the bush and having a braai with their friends.”

While this country-pop track is deep and meaningful, it boasts an upbeat rhythm and a captivating melody that invites you to sing along.

Pietersen, who wrote the song himself, takes great pride in the final product produced by DeeGraaff Productions. He reveals that he incorporated a snippet from the classic folk song, Sarie Marais, into the chorus to celebrate and emphasize Afrikaner pride and history, which also inspired the title of the song.

“For me, it is not about race or politics in our country, but it gives those who work away hope and courage to give their best, even when their days seem dark or difficult. It motivates everyone to join hands and stand together,” he says. “I also want to thank the group of H2-A guys who raised money for me to record this song. The desire was big, and God’s grace was even bigger because my dream came true. Just when you think you have the right plan, God shows you the path He has for you, leading to something better.”

BRING MY TERUG (H2-A) is the musician’s third single and follows in the footsteps of 3 Weke and Ex-Probleem, both of which were well-received, providing him with a strong foundation to build upon.

Originally from Naboomspruit, Logan currently resides in Pretoria. He is the oldest of three siblings, and music has always been his greatest passion. He has been active in the music industry for over a decade and has achieved numerous milestones, including making it to the Top 96 in season three of The Voice SA and the Top 46 in Maak My Famous.

He is currently working hard on his music and performing as much as possible. He also hopes that his latest single will open more doors for him.

He concludes: “The song gives me hope and encourages me to put more of this kind of music out there, which means something to many in terms of forming unity and standing together. I believe it provides exactly what the listener wants to hear and feel because it has a very strong message.”

The single is now available on all major digital music platforms and offers a voice for all those who work far from home and their loved ones. It’s not just a song; it’s an embodiment of the feelings and dreams of a community standing together in times of longing.
