It is all about the fathers out there this June – be it a stepfather, god father or just good old dad!
Fathers, like mothers, are pillars of strength in the development of a child’s well-being!
Children look to their fathers to provide a feeling of physical and emotional security and they want to make their fathers proud.
On Sunday, June 20th is the day we especially honour fathers – a day to make them feel extra special and thank them for the role they play in our lives and simply show him some appreciation.
Yes, you can bring him breakfast in bed.
Yes, you can make him a Father’s Day card, or just let him sleep in!
However, other ideas could include heading off to Park Boulevard Shopping Centre in Durban North and giving Trophy Centre a visit. They offer some amazing gift ideas. You could purchase a small trophy that he can proudly display with engravings such as “Our Dad, the Hero!”, “Dad is Number One!”, “World’s Greatest Dad!” or,a personal favourite is “You can keep your Superman & Batman heroes, my Dad is the greatest super hero!”
If your Dad is an outdoor enthusiast, then Outdoor Warehouse, situated at Springfield Retail Centre, is a good place to visit. They stock everything “outdoorsy”, from clothing & footwear, to camping, hiking and fishing equipment.
So, if your dad doesn’t do the outdoors, but enjoys a glass of wine or whiskey after a hard day at the office, then Norman Goodfellows at Granada Square in Umhlanga, is just the right store to pop into. Offering the widest range of fine wines, premium spirits, malts, and so much more, any Dad would be over the moon to keep his connoisseur palate up to date!
Either way, it is a special day to celebrate your hero, create special memories together and acknowledge that you are “mad for dad”!
Kind regards,
