Bringing local artists and acts from across the nation to offer a unique music and cultural experience, as well as showcase Mahikeng’s hospitable skills.
The festival kickstarted with festivities and a cultural showcase and a carnival at Kgosi Montshioa’s residence. Guests from far and near were treated to a traditional experience through song and dance by local artists who proudly speak of their Setswana Heritage through their art. It was an opportunity not just for guests to be presented with a cultural experience but for local artists to financially benefit as well as learn from each other.
The three-day-long show appropriately set the tone for the weekend with a gospel explosion evening featuring performances from artists such as Bucy Radebe, Manana Ramogae, and David the King as well as the much-anticipated Joyous Celebration. They warmed up guests, giving them a taste of what to expect during the festival weekend. The experience would’ve been incomplete without a touch of tradition which was shared through the sounds of cultural artists such as Mma Ausi, who kept us moving to the beat of her traditional Tswana music.
With the festival fired up and the crowd left wanting more each evening, it was only right that it ended with an electrifying experience brought together by the sounds of Amapiano and Hip-Hop.
