Connie Chiume, who plays Mamokete Khuse in e.tv’s Rhythm City will be leaving the soapie this month. She has been with the show since its launch on July 09 back in 2007. Her character, a strong maternal figure, is loved by many viewers and her fellow cast members.
Viewers can anticipate dramatic and inspiring final scenes from this veteran actress, who will be seen for the last time in the soapie on April 20. “This departure will allow me to pick up on things that were left undone. I am grateful for the time and experience with Rhythm City and e.tv. I believe I was born to be an actress, it’s in my blood. Parting is such sweet sorrow, and I will miss my Rhythm City family,” says Chiume.
Rhythm City Series Producer, Yula Quinn says that they are very sad to see the actress leave as her skills played a massive role in making the character of Mamokete a success. “We are very sad to say goodbye to Connie who has been one of the show’s cornerstone characters. The brilliance and talent she brought to the soapie, in her role as Mamokete, has been an inspiration to many. We will miss her on the Rhythm City set and on our screens. e.tv, Rhythm City producers, cast and crew wish her all the best with her future endeavours.”
Connie will still be concentrating on her love for acting, and her long time passion for farming.
