Jennifer lopez’ ex husband Marc Anthony has been ordered to pay his other ex-wife Dayanara Torres $26 800 a month in child support.
The Latino singer had the amount he currently pays Dayanara Torres for their sons Cristian, 13, and Ryan, 10, doubled from the $13 400 he was previously giving to her.
Torres originally asked the court to rule her former spouse – who also has six-year-old twins Max and Emme from his marriage to Jennifer Lopez – should pay her a staggering $123 426 a month as 10 years have passed since their divorce and her family’s needs have changed, but the judge presiding over the case rejected her request.
Marc, 45, was opposed to paying such a huge sum as he reportedly believes the increase in funds would spoil his sons “rotten” and worries the extra income would result in them becoming addicts.
He hired a psychologist to write a letter to the judge highlighting all the problems that could arise from children living in Los Angeles in the thick of the entertainment industry.
The couple married in 2000 and divorced in 2004, with Marc handing over a house in Florida, a BMW, a Lincoln Navigator, a golf club membership, as well as a vacation budget under their previously-agreed terms.
He also paid her $70 000 legal fees for the divorce.
