Munich, Germany – In November 2016, KYOCERA Document Solutions Inc. was recognised for their innovative product designs at the GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2016 held in Osaka, Japan; an award organised and hosted by the Japan Institute for Design Promotion (JDP).
Four A4 multifunctional products (MFPs) and printers were selected at the GOOD DESIGN AWARD. They included the ECOSYS M5526cdw, P5026cdw, M2640idw and P2040dw. It was not a coincidence when the same multifunctional models were selected as winners again at the iF DESIGN AWARD 2017. The event was organised under the auspices of the iF International Forum Design GmbH in Germany.
In an official statement released by the company on their website, KYOCERA said:
These products pursued a compact design with low-noise operation, allowing them to be set up in close proximity to the users at businesses such as retailers or distributors. KYOCERA received the “iF DESIGN AWARD 2017” due to the evaluation of its long-life design as a feature of product development, waste and printing cost reduction, as well as simple design and operability considering the user.
The final winners were announced after a panel of over sixty renowned experts from over 20 countries in design, industry and architecture took turns to deliver their judgement. After a rigorous process based on well-defined criteria, KYOCERA Document Solutions Inc. came up on top in the Product Design category. The prestigious awards night took place at the BMW Welt in Munich, Germany on Friday (10 March 2017).
