Two of Cape Town’s popular funny men, comedians Dalin Oliver and Carl Weber, are expected to be the hour of laughs everyone needs on a Monday when their new show, Happy Hour, makes it’s debut on Monday 15 May on South Africa’s oldest commercial music and lifestyle radio station, Good Hope FM.
The new weekly radio show, Happy Hour, will take place every Monday between 11h00-12h00 and is one of the newest changes to the station’s line-up, which will commence next week.
Happy Hour, is set to tackle a host of various topics to keep listeners entertained, such spoof segments, local and international comedy happenings as well as local and international news.
Dalin, who is currently the Good Hope FM Sports Presenter on The Nigel Pierce Show, has performed alongside some of SA’s top comedians, says he excited to work together with Carl in his new radio offering on Good Hope FM.
“This is such an exciting new venture. I’m looking forward to getting off stage and translating my brand of humour onto a different platform. I’ve always enjoyed working with Carl. We have great chemistry and humorous banter is always a feature when in each others company. I’m stoked that Good Hope FM saw our potential and gave us this amazing opportunity,” he says.
Carl, who recently showcased his one-man show The Bloem Boykie Diaries in The Mother City, said that the audience should expect “a quirky, crazy, interactive and funny” take on all things making the headlines.
“I’ve always wanted to get into radio, as both comedy and radio are big first loves of mine, and I am excited to bring some fun and laughter along with Dalin, every Monday morning on the show.”

Dalin is a Cape Town-born qualified teacher-turned-comedian. His passion for the performance arts was triggered in 2010 when he won the UCT leg of Good Hope FM’s Campus DJ Search. A few months later the comedy bug bit and the qualified high school Mathematics and History teacher ditched the chalk board for a microphone and the stage. This Bloemfontein “farmboy” has been on the comedy scene since 2010. In 2011, Carl rose to fame when he was selected as the winner of The Phat Joe Next Comic Search on Heart 104.9FM. Since then the Cape Town-based comedian, has performed comedy skits at The Nandos International comedy Festival in 2011 and in 2015 he was cast to perform at The Jive International Comedy Festival at The Baxter Theatre. Having performed on stage along the likes of Riaad Moosa and Loyiso Gola, Carl has become a household name on the Cape Town comedy circuit and is now finally realising his dream of performing his very own one-man comedy show to SA audiences.
