I came here to dance – Better Now & Airforce1 Records are bringing together two things that belong together. Mi Casa & Malik Harris. All-conquering “MI CASA” from South Africa are taking on Europe, having achieved everything possible in South Africa. Including being honoured with the South African Music Award for Best Dance Album. Songs like “JIKA”, “MAMELA” and “DON’T WANNA BE YOUR FRIEND” have gone platinum multiple times, and are among the most played songs on national and continental radio. But where others might be content to rest on their laurels, J’Something (vocals), Dr Duda (producer, piano) and Mo-T (trumpet) are taking off for the other side of the world. With Malik Harris, the three Funkateers have put together a collaboration that’s the perfect fit. In 2022, the German-American multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and rapper flashed past us at Eurovision, before going straight into the top 10 of the singles charts, managing to grab gold status and proving he’s set his sights on bigger things. Just like a Rockstar. His latest hit single “Sticks & Stones” has once again catapulted him to the top 10 of the German airplay charts, just as Mi Casa are preparing to conquer the rest of the planet, having already enjoyed massive success with C4 Pedro, Eddy Kenzo, Yemi Alade and Kenyan faves Sauti Sol, dominating the South African charts since 2010 with a total of eight number one singles. Mi Casa & Malik Harris is a match made in heaven, at once unexpected and yet more than just a good fit. If there’s one song that comes out of nowhere and seems so strangely familiar that you have to start moving, it’s “Who Cares”. Sometimes you just have to close your eyes and retreat into yourself. Dancing like nobody’s watching, even though hundreds of thousands probably will be. Watch the Official Music Video here:(Premieres at 18h00 SAST) |
