Looking for the perfect track for the soundtrack of your summer? Look no further than the latest upbeat, summer-inspired single from South Africa’s, Miguel Pregueiro. Typically known for bringing the Latin, Spanish-infused flavour to his music, Miguel has explored a commercial, pop sound in his new release. “I wanted to explore a new sound with this latest single while still bringing the Spanish influence in some way to the song. I don’t want to steer away from that but rather find new ways to infuse it in my music.” and he does just that by still including a Spanish verse in the song.

While usually based in Johannesburg, Miguel wanted a music video that perfectly embodies the feeling that “For The Night” is meant to evoke in a listener and what better way to do that than to film in the beautiful city of Cape Town. “I really want people to think of this single as their very own Summer anthem. While they’re out having a good time with friends or chilling on the beach, this could be the single for them and there was no place more perfect to try and capture that feeling than Cape Town.” In a ‘home-movie’ styled video, it captures a more personal-style to Miguel as we see him in his element exploring the city while taking the viewer on the journey with him.
The ability for artists to dabble in various genres is the great thing about the new era of music. One doesn’t have to be a hostage to one kind of sound. “Even though “For The Night” is a different sound to what people have heard from me before, I think it could be a track that can be enjoyed by an even larger audience. I’m aiming to try and reach as many people as I can with my music and a release like this allows me to expand on that,” Miguel explains. His previous single, ‘Hola’ was the first song of his to reach #1 on any chart in South Africa. When it landed at the top on the Good Hope Hit 30, Miguel was shocked in the best way possible. “I never expected that a Latin-infused song with Spanish lyrics from a Portuguese-South African would go to number one in a country where the genre isn’t mainstream. I was so thankful and it was a big moment for me.”
With 2022 right around the corner, you can expect to be hearing more from this hitmaker. “I have a lot planned for 2022. I’ll be releasing more music with the Miguel-sound that you’re used to but also exploring further genres. It’s important for me to make music that I enjoy and if others can enjoy it with me then that’s what matters. I’m just going to continue doing what I love and see where the world takes me.”
