IMELA is a classic producer’s album incorporating Dr Frank’s vast musical taste, multi-instrumental skill, and the collaboration with industry’s A-lists like Muvhango actress Maumela Mahuwa, Nigerian Afro soul/Jazz artist Kunle Ayo, Tubi James, and Nwabisa Meth.

 Imela means Thank You. It is a popular saying in the Igbo community in Nigeria.

Vho Susan Features on Dr Frank’s Album

Award-winning filmmaker, media tertiary institution founder, musician and author Dr Frank released the highly anticipated album Imela supported by a single titled Your Grace featuring Candy Tsamandebele and I don’t Mind featuring Maumela, who is known by the general public as Susan on SABC 2’s flagship soapie Muvhango.

The album was conceptualised after releasing his debut book No One Is Coming For you. The album was recorded at Dr Frank’s studio based in Randburg , the same city the AACA (African Academy of Cinematic Arts), a creative arts and media tertiary institution, which he co-founded with “Muvhango actress Maumela Mahuwa is based.  The video for the single is breath-taking – a meeting of great African fashion and storytelling https://youtu.be/vureJgV7HGk. The video has over 14 000 views on Youtube – an impressive achievement.

The production of Your Grace was handled by Dr Frank himself, co-writing the song with Candy Tsamandebele. Dr Frank and Candy Tsamandebele first worked together on the latter’s previous single Siku Ne Siku featuring Nonny D. The song was the first single off Candy Tsamandebele’s South African Music Award winning album, Hupenyu Unenge Viri.
