NAMIBIAN-BORN SINGER-SONGWRITER, EFACT RELEASES NEW SINGLE ‘CIGARETTES’
Namibian-born artist EFACT, known for his evolving sound and heartfelt lyrics, has just released his latest single, ‘Cigarettes.’ This track marks a new chapter in EFACT’s musical journey as he ventures into full-on pop, blending introspective themes with an infectious melody that resonates with listeners. “I always wanted to make a full on pop song,” EFACT shares. “And the song explores the struggle between personal habits, and the influence of a meaningful relationship. It reflects on the balance between staying true to oneself and being changed by a partner’s care.” The song captures a mature take on the challenges of adult relationships, mixing defiance with vulnerability, and ultimately highlighting how love can lead to personal growth.

The production of ‘Cigarettes’ saw EFACT collaborating with Gernot, the owner of Nautilus Studios, who handled the mixing and mastering of the track. EFACT’s commitment to the creative process is evident not just in his music, but also in the way he approaches every aspect of his work—from writing his own lyrics to being heavily involved in the production of his music videos.
Over the past five years, he has released more than 35 songs and 14 music videos, steadily building his presence in the music scene. His previous single, ‘Past Days,’ was a heartfelt tribute to his December holidays in Namibia, spent with family and friends. The track resonated with audiences, garnering over 80k views on YouTube and even earning him a live performance on Namibia’s national television.
Born and raised in Namibia, EFACT, whose real name is Emil Fürniss, comes from a multicultural background—his mother is South African, and his father is German. This rich cultural heritage, combined with his experiences growing up in a musically-inclined family, has shaped his approach to music. Moving to South Africa two years ago to pursue a Business degree and further his music career, he has continued to develop his unique sound, which now blends elements of pop, acoustic, and rap.
