Nashua and The South African Hall of Fame collaborate to nurture sporting talent at Pretoria Boys High

Total workplace solutions provider, Nashua, has donated laptops to sports coaches at Pretoria Boys High School as part of its wider partnership with The South African Hall of Fame, an initiative to honour the nation’s heroes. The South African Hall of Fame has provided the High School with access to 15 coaches as part of its Legacy Project.

The Legacy Project is an initiative to discover and develop exceptional young individuals’ talents and potential. The aim is to target talented children without resources, who might never have had the chance to have their remarkable talents discovered and fostered, thereby nurturing the next generation of leaders.

The 15 strength and conditioning coaches are permanently assigned to the school and managed by The South African Hall of Fame. The laptops supplied by Nashua will give them access to digital tools and programs to facilitate their coaching work. The handover of the laptops took place at a ceremony at the Pretoria Boys High School.

Barry Venter, CEO at Nashua, says: “Nashua is a committed supporter of sports and young talent, as exemplified through our role as founding sponsor and enablement partner for the SuperSport Schools programme. Our collaboration with the Legacy Project is a great way to help unlock the hidden potential in South African schools.

Creating opportunities for the youth and developing leaders is an investment in the country’s future. The coaches at Pretoria Boys High School will help to mould the lives of numerous young people—and among them, we could discover the Hall of Famers of the future.”

The South African Hall of Fame’s Chairman, Johnny Burger says: “The youth hold the future of our nation in their hands, and we believe it’s our duty to guide and support them. We are committed to cultivating productive, and well-rounded leaders. Nashua’s partnership is playing a valuable role in achieving that goal.”

Chris Oldnall, Head of Sports at Pretoria Boys High School, adds: “The coaches are already making a massive difference to our sporting teams. We’ve seen some great wins and a drop in injuries. The laptops generously donated by Nashua will help the coaches to further increase their effectiveness and provide even better support to our learners.”
