Sewing For Hope: Nicci launches limited-edition range to empower women

Johannesburg, 15 July 2024 – In celebration of Mandela Day, Nicci Boutiques, a leading fashion women’s boutique, is proud to announce a meaningful partnership with Fingertips of Africa Sewing Academy, a non-profit organisation dedicated to uplifting women in need with the launch of its limited-edition blankets and scrunchies.

Nicci generously donated a selection of its most stylish fabric to Fingertips of Africa and funded the entire project. Using these fabrics, the ladies in the sewing academy have created beautiful, limited-edition blankets and scrunchies. Each piece is handmade with care and represents the skill and creativity of these talented women and their journey towards self-sufficiency.

Niki Breger, Co-Founder of Nicci says: “This collaboration underscores our commitment to supporting and empowering underprivileged women through skills development and sustainable employment opportunities. We are proud to launch our latest #NicciGivesBack campaign, which will feed children and provide employment for women in need.”

Limited-Edition Range
The exclusive blankets and scrunchies, adorned with Nicci’s signature branding, are now available at selected Nicci stores nationwide and online. By purchasing these items, customers will be making an impactful difference in the lives of many, supporting Fingertips of Africa children feeding scheme and academy. “Customers can use their purchasing power for good, knowing they are helping build brighter futures and actioning positive change,” says Niki.

These limited-edition items symbolise the company’s commitment to empowering women and uplifting communities. “This initiative is particularly close to our hearts as a female-focused brand,” explains Niki. “We are honoured to partner with Fingertips of Africa to make an impactful difference in the lives of each of these incredible women who are the cornerstone of their communities and support their families.”

The project aims to raise awareness and support for women in our communities, aligning with the spirit of Mandela Day and its focus on taking action to inspire change. “We invite our customers and the broader community to join us in this important initiative,” adds Niki.

Fingertips of Africa
Fingertips of Africa adopts communities, publicising their plight and galvanising support to help meet their basic needs. With access to essentials and a connection to people who care, these communities can start to build brighter futures.

The non-profit runs various programmes, including Fingertips Sewing Academy, which was founded in 2020 to empower women and help them find sustainable sources of income whilst upskilling them.

Through Fingertips Sewing Academy, Nicci will directly aid these women along their journey through employment and knowledge sharing. In addition, with each purchase, a child is fed, with all proceeds going directly to Fingertips of Africa to support its feeding scheme.

Social Impact
Nicci’s commitment to social impact is reflected in its business practices and meaningful partnerships, emphasising the brand’s commitment to making a positive difference in local communities.
