South Africa’s queen of amapiano is back with another club banger and this one is dedicated to the lovers of groove. The DJ has teamed up with Sgija to release a party anthem titled Sting Ray that is sure to be a regular on DJ mixes.
South Africa has nightlife like no other country on earth, and it’s no surprise to see DBN Gogo paying tribute to our nation’s love for groove on a single. In Sting Ray, she references a classic late2010s amapiano hit, Ubumnandi by sampling the infamous drum roll from the song which celebrated South Africa’s party life.
On Sting Ray, DBN Gogo gives us a taste of what groove might sound like in 2024 as she blends in her own expert production to the sample. The new single is the latest release from her upcoming EP, Click Bait which is already proving to be an eclectic body of work.
The new single follows the release of Mali Mali, an emphatic afro-house money anthem that inspired listeners to chase their dreams all while singing to the rhythm of a 3-step beat. On Sting Ray, she channels the roots of Amapiano while other tracks on the EP will see her exploring a wide range of sounds.
