THE ROCKETS – BROUGHT TO YOU BY LRI PRODUCTIONS – Saturday 3 October 2020 at 18:30pm
Get ready for an online concert extravaganza of note as one of the most successful pop groups to ever come out of South Africa, The Rockets, are set to showcase some of their biggest songs in a one-night only musical celebration next month.
Hosted by LRI Productions, The Rockets will be performing in concert for a second time only since the COVID-19 pandemic struck this year, in an online concert production taking place on Saturday 3 October.
The concert will be performed in front of a small live audience at Radisson Red Hotel in Cape Town. According to The Rockets band member, Jerry Watt, The Rockets will be performing fan favourites throughout the years.
“We are putting together a set list of songs that showcases a blend of pop, R&B and soul. We are excited to do this show as it will be our first live performance since lockdown was implemented 6 months ago.”
The Rockets are more than just a group – they’re a musical institution. They have travelled in excess of 3 million kilometres performing before millions of fans, and they continue to set both local and international stages alight with their colourful, uncompromising and energetic performances.
The iconic pop group was recently honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Ghoemas.
If that’s not all, their recent 50th Anniversary sold-out show at Grand West Arena in Cape Town also received a SAFTA award for Best Music Show production earlier this year.
Lyle Ryan, CEO of LRI Productions, says fans should look forward to a “world-class production setting” while dancing on their feet. “The Rockets are legendary for their hits and this concert is set to be one of their most memorable performances ever.”

The group is currently back in the studio recording their next album – which will be their first CD offering since 2019. “As a result of Covid-19 their new CD will only be released early next year. Many of the songs they will perform live are on this CD,” says Watt.
