Oskido told Cassper that he should forget about getting recognition from the South African Music Awards but should focus on his fans. After Cassper, blasted the SAMA organisers for not nominating his tune in the song of the year category.
“@casspernyovest as long as you are an independent record label forget @thesamas what’s important is to keep standing like @KalawaJazmee #21years in the music industry but still rocking. Music industry is not about the awards,your fans are your awards,” wrote Oskido on his instagram page.
Last year Nyovest had one of the most played songs; Doc Shebeleza which was remixed with American rapper Talib Kweli.
Cassper wrote on Twitter: “All I want to know is why we were not nominated.. I want to understand and I am not alone.. I’m sure a lot of people are confused @TheSAMAs.”
He went on further to say: “Just explain to us as to why we didn’t make the cut… So that next year, we can work on that… I want to improve @TheSAMAs.”
Oskido assured Cassper that what is important was his recognition by the public not the SAMAs organisaers.
“Imagine I only won my 1st #sama after 19 years. Go to the samas have fun,if you don’t win life goes on. What’s important is the street creed in order for you to last in this industry. #Ibelieve”
