Police fired rubber bullets at protesting Nelson Mandela Bay students on Wednesday, who took to the streets in solidarity with protesting students nationwide.
Students throughout the country are protesting proposed fee hikes for 2016. According to report, police fired rubber bullet and also used stun grenades and tear gas to disperse the crowd early on Wednesday morning, after splinter groups of students blocked roads.
Police as well threw stun grenades at protesting students from the University of Cape Town (UCT) and the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) as they staged a protest in front of of South Africa’s Parliament in Cape Town.
