The South African-based Zimbabwean diva records her music between South Africa, Zimbabwe and USA, and with ‘Tonight’, Tia opens the doors in anticipation for her upcoming EP.

‘Tonight’ is a feel-good song about having fun,” says Tia. “It gives you that sense of control and confidence over your choice of being happy the way you choose to be happy and not letting anybody take that away from you.”

The edgy track has already gotten the attention of Sean Garret, who has produced music for Beyoncé, Ciara, Pussycat Dolls and Usher, to name just a few.

The experienced performer received the Best Urban Grooves (Female) Award in 2006 from the Zimbabwe Music Rights Association, after which she took a sabbatical from the stage to complete her degree in Criminology, Media and Communication Studies in South Africa.

In 2016, Tia released deep house track ‘Gimme Love’, which also received generous play on various South African airwaves. Motivated by the appreciation of her music in South Africa, she has also recorded a new house song titled ‘A Brand New Day’ featuring South African DJ Magnetik Tempoz, which will feature on her upcoming EP.

Tia recently held a live performance to launch the theme song of her charity organisation, A New Day. The show was supported by various corporates, including Fedex and Deloitte. This was well-received by energised fans, and with the release of ‘Tonight’ signalling the new EP on its way, long-standing fans who are hungry for more can expect to be appeased.

Tia says, “I hope the song reaches a huge audience across Africa and the world – allowing it to give them a sense of happiness during this quarantine time which has challenged our familiar way of living.”
