Reach For A Dream Foundation and Silverstar Casino join forces to spread hope in the West Rand
On Saturday 1 March, you can have fun and feel good about it too! There are few things as pleasurable as being able to have a great family day out, knowing that at the same time, you are directly contributing towards making a child happy and filling them with hope that their dreams can and will come true.
Silverstar Casino has partnered with The Reach For A Dream Foundation (RFAD) to spread hope with the first-ever West Fest event at Silverstar Casino, where all ticket sale proceeds will go to RFAD. Help us achieve our goal of selling 1,500 tickets!
From 13h00, you can joyfully dance to the sounds of Tamlyn Wessels of “n klein bietjie wyn” fame, get the full Martin Bester and band experience and be blown away by the epic sound of Spoegwolf. Chill out at the Beer garden where your drinks are ice cold and plentiful. Snoop around the market and get everything that’s “lekker”. Rest assured your kids are safe and sound in the kiddies’ zone where there are magicians, balloon artists and face painting plus inflatables to jump and climb onto.
Think you’re a master of the braai? Prove it! Finally, lay to rest any claims to being the official Braai Master within your social circle by partaking in the inaugural Braai Olympics. This is your chance as a team of 5 carefully chosen family and friends, to show off who has the best tong technique, who is the master of marinade and who will be crowned the ultimate “chop-n’-dop” champion! Join Chris Forrest at the Braai Olympics, a team event where you and four friends will tackle five epic braai challenges for a chance to win amazing prizes. Silverstar is proud to partner with RFAD which has since 1988, brought hope, joy and healing to countless children by encouraging them to use their dreams to fight life-threatening illnesses. RAFD seeks to alleviate the strain a critical illness places on children and their families by making their dreams come true. These dreams — ranging from meeting personal heroes to getting new toys or experiencing new things for the first time — provide them with a temporary escape and a much-needed distraction from often painful medical treatments. Most importantly, fulfilled dreams inspire hope, giving these children a reason to believe that tomorrow is worth fighting for. RAFD’s national projects like Laughter Heroes, Dream Rooms and Dream Club provide ongoing support, enhancing the lives of these brave young fighters and their families.
