This year, Reggie Peace is celebrating a decade in the entertainment industry. To commemorate this huge milestone, he is finally releasing his long-awaited debut album, NUWE LEWE. NEW LIFE, which is definitely going to strengthen his place in the local music scene.

The album boasts twelve exciting original songs (English and Afrikaans) and three bonus tracks from various genres, ranging from Gospel to RNB, Hip-Hop, Dance and Soul. “I have been planning and working on this album for more than a year and feel so blessed to finally make this dream come true. It is the biggest project of my life, and I am thankful for each person who has supported me on this journey,” shares the twenty-eight-year-old artist from Schauderville in Port Elizabeth.

He adds that the title symbolises a new chapter in his life. “Out with the old and in with the new. It is time for a new Reggie, a new mindset and a new acceptance of myself and where I come from. God has given me a second chance and I want to make the best of it.”

In addition to a few impressive songs from his own pen, the album also features several powerful collaborations with the likes of Romie Boy, Just J, Khanyisizwe Nkosi and Petronel Baard. He was also lucky enough to have two brilliant producers, DJ Darkness (a.k.a. Calvin Botha who produced 10 songs) and Wesley West (a.k.a. Wesley van der Westhuizen who produced 2 songs) on board to spice things up.

The musician explains that it is difficult to choose only one favourite song on the album and admits that he especially enjoyed working on Nuwe Lewe (which features both of his brothers), Genade (produced by Wesley West) and Forever“I want my music to inspire and motivate fans to dance, live, love and think… because life is short.”

Reggie Peace, a.k.a. Reginald Hufkie, is a popular South African actor, musician, scriptwriter and songwriter. In 2013, he was part of the gospel group, Gospel Goes Beyond, which had a record deal with Zinto Records. He was also in a Hip-Hop / RNB group called Peacemaker, after which he decided to pursue a solo career in 2018. He is best-known for songs like FrequencyDo It – PeacemakerHoekom?Kos Op Die Tafel (KODT)All That MattersBetterMoveThe Struggle is Over and In Die Vlei, which featured in the Afrikaans series, Arendsvlei.

His dream is to create memorable South African stories through all mediums possible and is grateful for the success he has achieved with his music locally and abroad.

“My first album allowed me to showcase different aspects of my personality and it was important to include content that is honest, authentic and creative… to tell my story in a way that everyone can relate to,” he concludes.
