Welcome to another segment of our street style of the day, featuring super model Charlene Rinae styled in one of D’toks creation’s.
This month, we will be show casing one of our favourite designer’s gorgeous designs – D’tok’s Creation. We can attest that D’toks is the perfect to go to designer for your next fashion forward look.
Charlene donning D’toks patches jean dress looked heavenly in the one piece item. The dress which speaks ‘creativity’ and ‘future’, looked every inch amazing on the aspiring super model Charlene.
Adorned Beyond recently got to chat with D’toks Creations and it was indeed an amazing time getting to know about the talented designer and what inspires her work.
Tell us a bit about yourself…i.e. where are you from, what are your names, your earliest childhood memory.
All I can remember about my childhood is that I was put into a boarding
school at a very early age and have spend the rest of my childhood there
never had an opportunity to bond with my mom.
What is a typical day like in the life of Thoko?
I work day in and out. I love my work if I’m not seeing clients I am down town
Jozi or any where; where I can find materials or you’d find me in the work shop
creating clothes. I’m hoping to employ 1 or 2 assistants in the near future.
How did you find yourself in this line of work?
My love of fashion developed at a very young age. I knew that one day ill be creating my own clothes but never thought of making a living out of it.
Where do you find your inspiration?
I am inspired by seeing how much love people have for
fashion.
What do you love most about your work?
What I like about my work is that I do what I love. Tough
industry to penetrate and get your name out there, but I’m hoping to
open my shop one day and grow my brand.
What advise would you give young and aspiring
designers out there?
Believing in yourself and in what you do is the key to success in Business. Work hard and be
passionate about what you do and hope for the best.
