ROCK GROUP – DIE EINDSTE, RELEASES DEBUT ALBUM AND NEW SINGLE!
Gauteng rock group, Die Eindste made quite the impression with the release of their first single, L earlier this year.
Now they are back in the spotlight with a brand-new song, JOU OPTOG that is going to top the success of their previous release.
The track, written by frontman and acoustic guitarist André Faurie, is about the fear of social rejection and the impact it can have on your life and self-confidence. “The song tells the story of someone who does not have the confidence to pursue the girl of his dreams because of social anxiety. This causes her to reject him and choose someone else,” Faurie explains. “He waits around, in the hope that she will change her mind even though he knows that they are not meant to be.”
Described as alternative rock, the song boasts a catchy tune and meaningful lyrics that will appeal to audiences of all ages. According to Faurie, the message behind the single is that listeners should stop basing their worth on other people’s opinions and be happy with who they are.
“There is always hope that things will get better once your self-confidence improves. That is why we say in the song that someday the guy might muster up the courage to pursue the girl again.”
An exciting music video is planned for early next year and will be filmed by Bow Tie Media at a lighthouse in the Western Cape.
JOU OPTOG is the second single off their debut album, GRYS, which was produced by Markus Els of Mark7Studios.
GRYS was deliberately chosen as the title to serve as a metaphor for the emotions depicted in the songs. “It is a dark colour, with a little bit of hope.”
It consists of eleven original alternative rock tracks that were specially created to address various topics like social anxiety, rejection, hope, acceptance and love.
“We want our music to make people think and feel something that they are not always willing to admit. Everyone struggles with emotional issues sometimes. But there is always hope, even if you are going through a difficult time. The sun always rises again after a winters evening,” the trio shares.
Their favourite songs on the album are Myself of Almal and Reën. Because they are complete opposites, they manage to capture the creativity, versatility, diversity and dynamics of the group and showcases André’s talent and skills as singer and songwriter.
Despite facing many challenges and obstacles, they are very proud and relieved to finally be able to share their album with fans.
Die Eindste, whose name originated from a conversation between the group members, was formed in 2019, when a group of school friends (André Faurie, Ruan Pieterse and Ian Putter) decided to make music together.
They consider the release of their debut album as one of their biggest career highlights so far and plan on releasing another one soon.
The group still has many plans and dreams for the future, including more gigs and sharing the stage with the likes of Jan Blohm, Francois van Coke and Spoegwolf someday.
“We believe that people will enjoy our music, because it is new and different from what is generally available in Afrikaans. For now, we are focusing on marketing our debut album and doing as many gigs as possible,” says Faurie.
Die Eindste‘s album has a fresh and unique sound and marks the start of a very promising chapter in this talented group’s music career.
“Each of us has our own taste in music, so it was quite a challenge to create a unique sound, but we are happy with the end-result and excited to share it with the public,” they conclude.
