Fresh off the release of his Sorry Four The Delay mixtape earlier this year, Been One arrives backed by its two lead singles, the boastful “On Da Floor” (feat. EST Gee) & the soulful “Thang For You” (feat. NoCap). As each one showcases a different side to Rylo Rodriguez’s dynamic artistry, he’s returning with Been One – his first project in three years, to expand upon his candid reflections and raw raps that have been on full display across his hyped-up string of leaked tracks throughout the years.

Through a number of popular leaked songs, Rylo has developed an intensely devoted following who continue to praise his resonant vocals & distinctive wordplay. Across Been One, Rylo Rodriguez uses tracks like “Thang For You” (feat. NoCap) & “Right” to flaunt his R&B-leaning capabilities which come complete with imaginatively melodic vocals and outspoken lyricism, while tracks like “You the Type” with his label boss Lil Baby, find him flexing his raw storytelling abilities and ingenious wordplay. Whether he’s candidly rapping or soulfully crooning, Rylo Rodriguez possesses the uncanny abilities to deliver both kinds of performances with ease, as he continues to exist in a space uniquely his own thanks to his constant delivery of heartfelt poetry and experimental flows. With his southern flair & poised demeanour on full display, Rylo is joined by a select few star guests – including Lil Yachty, Lil Baby, EST Gee, Lil Durk & others, who appear on Been One to contribute to his world-building sound – further cementing Rylo Rodriguez as a household name in modern Hip-Hop in the process.

Hailing from the city of Mobile, Alabama, Rylo Rodriguez is a prolific artist who has amassed over 1 Billion accumulative streams and carved out his own space in the Hip-Hop scene, becoming an undeniable frontrunner in Southern rap music. Signed to Lil Baby’s Glass Window Entertainment label in 2020, Rylo Rodriguez has delivered standout features on each of his label boss’ last two solo albums – “Forget That” (100M Streams) on My Turn & “Cost To Be Alive” (26M Streams) on last year’s It’s Only Me. In the process, Rylo Rodriguez has become a consistently dependable source of outspoken expression through his cannon of candidly-delivered bars. Among a sea of rappers who adhere to a similar sound, Rylo Rodriguez’s impeccable ear for beats and knack for delivering soulful reflections over them have helped develop him into a relatable voice of the streets. As a testament to his gradually growing staying power, Rylo landed on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the very first time through his knock-out feature on EST Gee’s 2021 track “5500 Degrees” (131M Streams) alongside close collaborators Lil Baby& 42 Dugg. Despite his organic chemistry with Lil Baby exemplified through other hit songs like “Walk” (413M Streams) with 42 Dugg, it’s his impressive string of solo singles like “Set Me Free” (75M Streams) & “Amen” (86M Streams) that fully showcase Rylo’s dynamic skill set. After signing to Glass Window Entertainment, Rylo Rodriguez dropped his debut album G.I.H.F. (Goat In Human Form), boasting features from Hip-Hop heavyweights like Yo Gotti, Moneybagg Yo & 42 Dugg – with its release, Rylo reached #2 on Rolling Stone’s Breakthrough 25 chart and #48 on their Artists 500 chart. His candidly soulful reflections and unique melodic flows have led to critical acclaim from the likes of Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, The FADER, The Source and many others – in the words of Pitchfork, “No matter what Rylo sings about, it’s very easy to immerse yourself in his blues”. With the release of only his third full-length project, Been One, which is led by singles “On Da Floor” (feat. EST Gee) & “Thang For You” (feat. NoCap), Rylo Rodriguez is returning to expand upon his own distinct sound by elevating his clear-cut storytelling abilities and raw vocal inflections to new heights.
