Cape Town-born singer and season 1 finalist of The Voice SA, Robin Pieters, drops his latest music single today – ahead of his much anticipated annual sold out musical celebration, It’s A Love Thing Vol. 2, this evening at GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World in Cape Town.
Pieters’ newest single, Fool, hits radio stations this week and this hot new musical release is a project that was co-written between Pieters and The Voice SA’s 2017 winner, Craig Lucas.
For Pieters, working with his fellow The Voice SA alumni on this song was “exciting”.
“Craig and I met way before he entered The Voice SA and I always believed in him as a singer. He is immensely talented as a singer and a writer and I knew I had to work with him. We have became great friends over the years and it was a joy to get into studio to work on this single with him.”
Adds Pieters: “The song speaks about a seven-year relationship gone wrong. It chronicles the end of one phase of my life and me moving on.”
Fool was written earlier this year after Lucas and Pieters decided to collaborate musically for this first time. The track was produced and recorded at Cosher Studios in Cape Town.
“We wrote the song in a garage in Cape Town and worked on the melody and lyrics until we knew we had the perfect recipe for a hit. I am so happy with the end result of this song and I can’t wait for the rest of the world to hear the hard work Craig and I put into writing it,” he says.
Fool is available for download on ITunes and Google Play Store as well as all other digital downloading platforms from today.
LOVE IS IN THE AIR
Pieters is set to rock the Grand Arena stage at GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World this evening for the first time, headlining his very own show at the prestigious venue as part of his show: It’s A Love Thing Vol.2. Pieters, who is the youngest artist to sell out the Grand Arena, is set to dazzle the stage in front of 5 000 adoring fans.
In 2016, Robin performed to a sold-out venue at the Baxter Theatre for a three-day run of the first instalment of It’s A Love Thing Vol.1.
The former background vocalist-turned-professional singer will take to the stage alongside amazingly talented artists in the global and South African music industry as they share, captivate and mesmerise audiences with their voices on Valentine’s Day.
Joining Pieters on stage in this much-anticipated one-night only Valentine’s Day concert, are: international singing sensation and Whitney Houston tribute singer, Belinda Davids; BET Award-nominated singer and songwriter, Lira; former Idols winner and businesswoman, Karin Kortje; Worcester-born artist, Elwira Standili as well as recently-crowned Idols SA season 13 winner, Paxton Fielies.
According to Pieters, love is certainly in the air this year – all for the right reasons.
“I am celebrating love at this concert because I want to encourage people to love themselves first, just as I am learning continuously to do the same. I also want to celebrate Valentine’s Day with my fans, and this show will be a testament of the love that I have for music, my fans, colleagues as well as to celebrate my musical journey over the past seven years.”
