Senzo Meyiwa’s father, Sam, might not get a cent of the R5 million in life insurance pay-out money, which is said to be contained in a PSL account, if the former Bafana Bafana captain never had a will.
According to Daily Sun report, if Senzo never made a will, in terms of the Estates Act, the money will go to the mothers of his children and not to Meyiwa senior, said Sithole.
“The only time the senior Meyiwa can access his son’s money is if he was nominated in a will. The parents of the deceased do not qualify for any payout unless it is specified in a will.
Sithole said Kelly Khumalo and Mandisa Mkhize, the mothers of Senzo’s two children, will be made the legal guardians of their kids. The mothers will get a monthly grant for the upkeep of the children while the kids gets the balance of the money when they turn 21.
